Our MS boys' basketball season went pretty well. Coach Corey Bullinger noted: "One thing I can say about this group was that they really grew and improved over the season. Our overall record this year was 10-6 and a we finished second at tournament. A month ago I think you would have been hard pressed to find anyone who would have guessed that, but the boys really locked in, focused on the basics and made it a great end to the season. Our most exciting game of the season was our semifinal win against Rocky. We were down by 10 in the fourth quarter and the boys fought back, got a steal with 6 seconds left and Armando hit a buzzer beater to win it and send us to the championship for the third year in a row. This group of eighth graders is the first group I have coached clear through and I have really grown close with them and will miss them going forward.
The B and C teams also had really good seasons and played everyone really tough. At the jamboree the B team won their first game and barely lost the second. The C team lost both of their games, but they were short-handed as three of their players were with the B team. Overall it was a great year and we are looking forward to the future!"

BES 2nd graders and our BHS Early Childhood class have been writing letters back and forth to each other throughout the school year. One of the activities that they have been working on came to life today! The 2nd graders had drawn a monster and then our HS students crafted the monster! These turned out great. Our kids were so excited to receive the crafted monsters and to meet their pen pals today! The next step in the project will be for the 2nd graders to write about their monsters. I was impressed with the quality and attention to detail in these crafted monsters. Take a look at the drawing and then compare that to what our HS students made. Pretty creative and some good sewing skills! Here's a link to the video of all of them: https://photos.google.com/share/AF1QipNaqfNEGbKN6p93TAArArWUdDkvlCmFbegxsK-cxf8mzVKnN6p8WLvMSFAdIzEp5Q/photo/AF1QipMgxmqYmrFy3mQeEq9BfmnPmlhAN7l7KCEjepqU?key=RWVSNlRLOVJfX2k2aGhFdUdUd0YtVkw3d2tyNmpn

Update on the Burlington Fish: All of the eggs have hatched, and the fry have been released from the egg basket. They are now in the fry stage of the rainbow trout lifecycle. If they were in their natural habitat, this is the stage at which we could observe them.

HS StuCo put on another school dance last Friday night. We had a good turnout with about 50 students. The dance ended early at 10:00pm so basketball students could make curfew but everyone still said they had a great time!

Mr. May's Lifetime Sports class learned about winter safety while having a blast ice fishing. I heard 4.5 fish was the most caught by any one person, but that might've been a fish story. You'd have to ask Eve how it's even possible to catch half a fish!

We are so proud of these students for taking time on a Saturday to do this. Thank you parents and guardians for supporting music, too!

Our 5th graders just completed a hands-on social studies project focused on the origins of the 13 colonies. After researching aspects of their chosen colony, including its founding, geography, and daily life, students transformed their learning into a three-dimensional dodecahedron display. Each face highlighted a different topic, focusing on organizing information clearly and creatively. The project combined research, writing, and creativity while helping students build a deeper understanding of early American history.
