Our music program starts tonight at 6:00pm in the gym! Students participating in the program need to arrive between 5:30 and 5:45. Hope to see you here!

Students had an opportunity to meet with Janie Wilcox, State Skills USA director. She discussed the state and national Skills USA competitions and the leadership skills needed. She detailed how these skill areas impact each of our lives in what we do.

Pretty neat news story by KTVQ and Pauline Parker invited them to school to interview a few students too.

First graders shared handmade (repurposed) ornaments during the senior luncheon yesterday, followed by some chatting and game-playing. Such a fun afternoon!

Nurse Susie Peterson taught students about eating healthier for the holidays. They made Christmas tree appetizers for their families!

Check out this basketball drill. Apparently the superhero masks help to build automaticity with keeping your eyes up and focused on the basket while also making it difficult to watch yourself dribble. Best of luck to our MS girls this weekend at the Big Horn Tournaments!

Here are some shots from the MS Drama class Play: Romeo and Juliet: Six very Busy Days

RMHS students are hosting an elementary student career fair. Elementary students from RMES and BES are attending. Sally Bernhisel and Skye Mader have organized this learning event. The high school students are mostly members of FBLA. They are doing a great job presenting. The elementary students are enjoying the rotations.

The founder of the Learner Lab, Trevor Ragan, presented Thursday evening at BHS. In attendance was a mixture of Big Horn 1 coaches and sponsors along with some attendees from neighboring districts. Trevor covered 4 tools to being effective leaders.

Our HS Student Council participated in the annual state convention with over 900 students from across WY, which made it one of the largest conventions we’ve ever had. Just a few highlights:
• Jessica Mendez did a phenomenal job running for the state office position of secretary, and gave a really good speech along with a Q&A with all of the voting delegates. She wasn’t voted in, but we are super proud of her effort and courage running for office!
• Joey Chatwin received both the “Hidden Hero Award” for her exemplary efforts in leadership here at BHS, as well as one of only 15 recipients of the “All State Student Council Award” which recognizes the top student council seniors in the state. Huge accomplishment!
• Phil Olson received the Mary Harshberger Advisor of the Year Award and will be Wyoming’s nominee for the national Warren E. Shull Award. He was nominated by BHS students.
Congrats StuCo!

There will be no Boost on Tuesday, November 21.

Fun Fact: The last time Burlington won the State Football Title was in 1994. The team beat Hulett 36 to 20 in a nine man contest. Mr. Mike Aagard was a senior. His son, Hunter, is a senior this year.
