Congratulations to new NHS inductees: James M. McNiven, Maddie Aagard, Bradford Davidson, Sophie Olson, and Rae Leonhardt! NHS leaders explained the pillars of Scholarship, Service, Leadership, and Character and what that means for our Burlington chapter, inviting guest speaker Blake Smith to elaborate. The ceremony ended with the lighting of the candles and some light refreshments.

As part of our Senior Success Skills class, all seniors participate in mock interviews in front of a panel of volunteers. This experience helps to prepare students for a real-world setting, providing an opportunity to use their newly revised resumes and helping students to apply the leadership skills they've been developing and discussing. Students receive feedback from the panel on the interview skills they demonstrated.

Burlington’s 5th grade science students are exploring hydroponics using the Gardyn system generously loaned by Ms. St. Clair. Through this hands-on project, each student had the opportunity to plant and care for one individual plant, learning how plants can grow without soil using only water and nutrients. The classroom has turned into a small indoor garden, where students are observing root growth, measuring plant height, and discovering how technology and science work together to create sustainable ways to grow food. This engaging experiment is helping students connect scientific concepts to real-world environmental solutions.

Ms. Jordan’s 3rd grade reading group recently finished reading Matilda and took their learning to a whole new level! After diving into the book together, the students worked to create their very own movie version of the story. This project was completely student-led from start to finish! They used AI to help generate a script, then made thoughtful edits and corrections to make it their own. They showed creativity, teamwork, and amazing leadership. It’s posted to our school Youtube site along with other student-created highlight videos, live streams, podcasts, and more, at: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vPn-7lwtvwY
