I chose Mason Twomey for Student of the Week. Mason is a joy to have in History class - he always shows up prepared, leads the class in participation, shows interest and promise in the subject, and goes beyond what is required of him in class. Proud Teacher Moment - good job Mason, keep it up. - Mr. Hodge.

Karter consistently demonstrates kindness and positivity during art class, by lifting his peers with helpfulness, encouragement and positive energy. His ideas and interactions during class help others level up their creativity also. Thank you Karter for bringing the positive vibes to class everyday. Keep up the good work.

Chemistry II is a new class at Rocky Mtn. This is exclusively for seniors and is the highest-level science available. The class is nearing the end of a compressed review of Chem I. Mr. Robertson

The middle school students enrolled in the high school Algebra 1 class are currently focusing on writing, solving, and graphing linear inequalities. Over the past few class periods, they reviewed these concepts through individual work and group work at the board. During the group activity, they were particularly supportive, helping their peers with questions and explaining difficult concepts. Prior to inequalities, the class revisited writing and solving linear equations, including literal equations and absolute value equations, which laid a solid foundation for their success with inequalities. Although absolute value inequalities have posed the greatest challenge, the students have demonstrated perseverance and significant growth since the topic was introduced in the previous chapter. Mrs. Arnold

Hola a todos!
We've already learned a lot in Spanish this year. Spanish 1 started with foundational words and phrases like the alphabet, numbers, greetings, the calendar, weather, and telling time. Spanish 2 and 3 have been reviewing high frequency phrases and verbs, making comparisons, and expressing preferences. In both Spanish 1 and 2 we will be moving toward a new-to-us curriculum that is based on comprehensible input. This proven method allows students to acquire rather than learn language and is modeled after how people learn their first language. It will require students to participate in the 4 modes of communication: reading, writing, speaking, and listening. If you would like to learn more about this language learning method or what will be required, feel free to email me at aanderson@bighorn1.com. I will also be sending an information sheet home with students.
This quarter, all of my Spanish classes are competing in "La Copa Mundial" (World Cup). For the competition, each student has an opportunity to earn cards for doing extra Spanish-related tasks. They can add to our Spanish word wall, find an interesting fact about their class country, review a set of flashcards, or complete a Duolingo lesson to earn a card. Each Friday, students exchange their cards for a chance to shoot a small ball into a goal and earn points for their class. The class with the most points at the end of the quarter is the winner.
I have appreciated the strong participation and enthusiasm I have gotten from my students this year. It has been a joy getting to know each one a little better. They are truly going places. Mrs. Anderson

Shoutout to one of my amazing student Rowan Hanusa. He is on top of everything--always does his homework, aces his quizzes and tests, participates in class discussions, and helps other students when they ask him questions. You're killing it Rowan! Keep up the great work! Mrs. Arnold

I chose Evin Clendenen for my Student of the Week. Evin comes to class every day prepared to learn; his attitude exemplifies what is expected of all Rocky Mountain Grizzlies. Mr. Anderson

Homecoming 2024

District Substitute Teachers are attending a training in the district office today. We appreciate the good work the substitutes provide.

My selection for Student of the Week is Senior Shelby Wambeke. She is a rare student that I can trust with some essential and difficult tasks. So far this year she has a perfect grade in both physics and multimedia and has done outstanding work. She is well deserving.
