Big Horn County School District Number One is a consolidated district incorporating the towns of Burlington, Otto, Byron, Cowley, Deaver and Frannie Wyoming. Located in the panoramic Big Horn Basin between the Big Horn Mountains to the East, the Absaroka Mountains to the West, and the Pryor mountain range to the North, magnificent vistas and recreation opportunities abound. A few minutes drive will take you to hunting, fishing, golfing, sight seeing, camping, boating, as well as winter sports of all kinds. The rural nature of our community makes it a wonderful place to live and raise children, while having Billings, Montana within easy driving distance for the occasional metropolitan experience. Northwest College, a two year community college and University of Wyoming Outreach center, is a scant 20 minute drive from our district. Northwest College offers two year dergree programs, Job training and community education, as well undergraduate and graduate programs from the University of Wyoming. World class local attractions include the Pryor Mountain Wild Mustang Herd, Big Horn Canyon National Recreation Area, Yellowstone National Park, the Buffalo Bill Historical Museum, Big Horn National Forest, as well as many Blue ribbon trout streams. |
